AGM followed by performance by Akiko Ross (acc. Jack Adams)

The second half of the evening will feature a performance by local mezzo-soprano, Akiko Ross, accompanied by Jack Adams.

Akiko Ross, contralto/mezzo-soprano, is trained at the London Trinity College of Music.

Active as both soloist and chorus, Akiko has appeared in numerous recitals, concerts and opera performances including at Cadogan Hall in London, Menuhin Hall in Surrey, Steinway Hall in Tokyo, and television performances for the Japan Broadcasting Corporation. She also sang the National Anthem at the US Embassy Tokyo for the 4^th of July receptions.

Akiko acted for the BBC World Service as Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet in another language”.

Beside Akiko’s passion for singing performances and teaching music, her favourite things are gardening, walking to the beach, meditation and the scent of her yellow roses.

Jack has performed regularly in Chichester as part of the Pallant Piano Group and Bognor Regis Music Club of which he is a committee member. In 2016 he attained his Advanced Performance Certificate in Piano from Trinity with Distinction, and later in 2018 his ATCL.

He was awarded the Kathleen Bryant award by the committee of Chichester Festival of Music, Dance and Speech in 2018 for being a "promising young musician who expressed love of, and feeling for music, which characterised Kathleen Bryant's life and teaching".

During the pandemic he collaborated with another pianist at the University of Texas to produce an entertainment series on YouTube of subjective rankings such as "100 Hardest Piano Solos", "100 Hardest Piano Concertos" etc. which have a combined over one million views.

He is currently studying with Goldsmiths College, University of London.
